This privacy policy applies when you visit or use our website and other services, that refer or link to this privacy policy (“Service/s”). This privacy policy may be supplemented by additional privacy statements, terms or notices provided to you.

EU Law Live S.L.is the controller of your personal information provided to, or collected by or for, the Service. You can access, rectify or cancel your personal details at EU Law Live, S.L., María de Molina 41, 28006, Madrid, Spain. Your personal information is stored and processed in Spain. 

We will indicate within the registration processes of our products and services and other registration forms what types of personal information are required and those that are requested. You may choose not to submit the requested information, but that may limit or prohibit the services that EU Law Live is able to provide to you.

Account information

If you decide to create an account or enquire about one of our products or services, we will ask you to provide us with some specific information, for example:

  • Work details – such as job title, department, company name, company address, work email address and office phone number;

We may obtain personal information about you from the organization with which you are employed or affiliated in order to activate and manage your access to and use of the organization’s subscription to the Service, including:

  • Contact details, such as your name and organisational email address, postal address, and phone number;
  • Other account registration  information such as job title; and/or
  • Organisational user ID

On occasion, we will ask you to voluntarily provide additional information, for example, your opinion of our products and services.

For example, if you complete one of our general Order forms, or register in our Website or request a Subscription, we would ask for your consent if we wanted to use your personal information for any other purpose.   • Legitimate business purposes – This is where we have a legitimate interest, as a business, to process personal information. For example, where we are aware of copyright infringements on our Site, it is in our legitimate interests as a business to identify those responsible.   • Contractual necessity – This is where we have to process personal information to meet our contractual obligations (for example, contact details, invoicing details). 
  • Legal obligation – This is where we have to process personal information in order to comply with the law. For example, we process and retain customer invoice information to comply with financial regulations.

How we use your personal information

Depending on how you interact with us and the Service, we use your personal information. to:

  • Notify you about changes, updates and other announcements related to the Service and our other products and services;

If you are an administrator of an organization with a subscription to the Service, we will use your details to communicate with you about your organization’s subscription and related services. If you supply us contact information of your colleagues, we may contact those individuals with communications about the Service that may include reference to you.

Who we share your personal information with

  • If you access the Service through a subscription administered by your organization, your personal information and certain usage data gathered through the Service may be accessed by or shared with the administrators authorized by your organization for the purposes of usage analysis, subscription management and compliance, training course progress, performance and remediation, cost attribution and departmental budgeting.
  • We engage service providers who help to support our business and improve our products. These service providers include, for example, organisations that host our Sites or databases; and providers of online surveys; customer support, email service providers, event venues and service providers, IT service providers, marketing service providers, research providers, mailing houses and shipping agents. We may share your personal information with them to process the information as necessary to provide the Service, complete a transaction or fulfil your request or otherwise on our behalf based on our instructions and in compliance with this privacy policy and any other appropriate confidentiality and security measures.

Legal processes and successors in title

We, and our suppliers, may also disclose your information to comply with applicable laws, court orders or other valid legal processes, and to enforce or apply our terms of use, any subscription agreement, or any of our other rights. We may transfer or disclose your personal information to any entity which takes over or acquires the relevant EU Law Live business. We also may share aggregated, non-identifiable information with third parties. Before sharing this information, we will ensure that it cannot identify you as an individual.

How long we retain your personal information

We retain the majority of your personal information for as long as your account is active and therefore open; this allows you to continue accessing our content, products and services. If you become inactive and are not a subscriber, we may delete elements of the information associated with your account. We will normally warn you if your access is going to be withdrawn and give you the opportunity to retain your account. Where we don’t need to keep all of your information in full, we will obfuscate or aggregate it, for example, web activity logs and survey responses. This is to ensure that we do not retain your information for any longer than is necessary.

It is sometimes necessary for us to keep your personal information for longer periods of time, for example:

  • If there is a statutory requirement to retain it;
  • If we require the information for legal reasons or there is a legitimate business need for us to retain it;
  • To ensure we do not contact you if you have asked us not to.

If you access the Service through a subscription administered or sponsored by your organisation, we retain your organisational contact details after the termination of your organisation’s subscription to continue to communicate with you.
